Aalborg Taffel Akvavit is a Danish spirit that’s been distilled since 1846, featuring a bold caraway flavor profile that’s quintessential to traditional Scandinavian aquavits. Interestingly, this iconic spirit played a role in a peculiar Danish drinking tradition called “snaps race,” where participants would try to drain their glass of akvavit in a single gulp, then quickly flip it upside down on the table – the last person to do so would have to buy the next round.
