Ardbeg ‘Corryvreckan’ is named after a powerful whirlpool north of Islay, and this Scotch whisky lives up to its tempestuous namesake with intense flavors of peppery spice, dark chocolate, and signature Islay smoke. Interestingly, Ardbeg uses a unique combination of French Limousin oak casks and ex-bourbon barrels in its maturation process, which contributes to the whisky’s complex profile and gives it a subtle hint of vanilla sweetness that balances the robust peaty character.
